Project Description
MEnD Consulting, was engaged by AECOM to complete a comprehensive condition assessment for various buildings owned by the Fremantle Port Authority. This site consists of numerous buildings of varying age and condition. The scope included the iconic B Sheds and other historic buildings around the site. The site data was then used to identify and prioritise the required maintenance works over the next 5 years. Budgets were also prepared based on MEnD’s practical experience with conducting building maintenance works.

To minimise costs and reduce the risks associated with inspecting the roofs MEnD used a potable mast with a high definition video device to stream a live video feed back to the engineer at ground level. The technique was proven to provide equivalent data as compared with inspections from EWPs.
