Osbourne Park Depot
Osbourne Park Depot
Hardstand Investigation
Project Details
Category: Infrastructure, Industrial
Client: City of Perth
Asset: City of Perth Depot Hardstand
Location: Osbourne Park, Western Australia
Project Description
MEnD Consulting was engaged by the City of Perth to prepare an engineering report on the investigation of the reinforced concrete hardstand located in their depot at Osborne Park, WA. The depot’s hardstand is currently used for the storage of the City’s service vehicle fleet, for example street cleaners and waste management trucks.
The hardstand was previously the site of a workshop. The workshop structure was removed and new canopy’s installed to shelter the vehicles when parked on the hardstand. There was evidence of deterioration to the hardstand including settlement, cracking, and spalling of the concrete. MEnD’s scope was to characterize the concrete strength, reinforcing details, and subgrade properties. This information was then used to determine the capacity of the slab and provide recommendations for remediation.
Working around the operating facility, MEnD secured several core samples, completed NDT, and provided access to determine the properties of the Subgrade.
Solution Execution
